We recognize the cost pressures families, business owners, farmers and commercial and industrial consumers are facing as Albertans continue to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and low oil prices.

In accordance with the legislation form the Government of Alberta, the AESO is actively reducing red tape as an ongoing business practice and as part of our cost management strategy to drive value for Albertans.

As the organization responsible for managing the safe, reliable and economic operation of the provincial power system, the AESO is prioritizing red tape efforts based on the magnitude of the opportunity for reductions and speed of implementation in order to streamline processes and reduce unnecessary burdens.
