Automated Dispatch and Messaging System ("ADaMS") and Dispatch Tool (“DT”) Decoupling
The AESO’s Dispatch Tool is a comprehensive system used by our System Controllers to balance the market and send dispatches to Pool Participants with dispatchable assets. Currently, our Dispatch Tool and Automated Dispatch and Messaging System are part of a single application which results in the unavailability of ADaMS when system maintenance is performed on our Dispatch Tool.
Effective November 17, 2020, the AESO will decouple our ADaMS application from our Dispatch Tool. This will allow the AESO to reduce the number of ADaMS outages that affect our Participants.
Following the implementation, users of ADaMS will not need to log off ADaMS if our Dispatch Tool is unavailable. Participants will continue to have access to all ADaMS functionality. During times the Dispatch Tool is unavailable, some data in ADaMS may not update until the Dispatch Tool is available again. Similarly, dispatches from restatements, submissions in the Energy Trading System (ETS) or from entering a start time in ADaMS may be delayed and will be processed once the Dispatch Tool is available. Dispatch Variance Notification (DVN) will also be unavailable during these periods.
Pool Participant Testing Available
Please note that due to technical delays, the testing window will now start on October 26th and end on October 30th, 2020.
Participants interested in testing their systems prior to the implementation will be able to access our ADaMS Integration environment. The ADaMS Integration environment will be accessible for participant testing starting on October 26 and ending on October 30, 2020. Participants must fill out the registration form at the link below and submit it to the AESO to register for this access no later than October 16, 2020.
