Virtual Registration | OTP & TRP Sprint 1

    Purpose and Objectives

The focus of this week is to begin formal stakeholder consultation on the Optimal Transmission Planning (OTP) framework and the Transmission Reinforcement Payment (TRP) methodology. The week will explore foundational elements and decisions of the OTP Framework.

This sprint will also offer stakeholders the opportunity to broaden the conversation by sharing perspectives and alternative OTP & TRP approaches to help inform the AESO’s framework design.

    Specifically, the Sprint aims to:

    • Understand stakeholder perspectives on foundational OTP decisions presented in the Options Paper and summarized during the kick-off to guide the development of the OTP framework.
    • Gather initial stakeholder perspectives on the starting points for the TRP initiative.
    • Discuss options for incumbency to advance the OTP discussion.
    • Explore additional OTP & TRP framework alternatives and viewpoints brought forward and presented by stakeholders.
