The AESO held a joint virtual Joint Stakeholder Engagement Session on Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources on Oct. 13, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Purpose

• Provide stakeholders with a quarterly progress update on the DER Roadmap and other interrelated activities.
• Review the DER Long-term Markets Participation Recommendation Paper.
• The DER Long-term Markets Participation Recommendation Paper will be available to stakeholders on Feb. 17, one week prior to the session. Stakeholders are asked to review the paper and be prepared with clarifying questions.
• Stakeholders are also asked to complete the DER Stakeholder Engagement Comment Matrix prior to March 12, 2021.

The AESO hosted a virtual stakeholder session on Oct. 14, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  

Purpose

• Share progress updates on the activities related to the Energy Storage Roadmap and DER Roadmaps.
• Review of issues and options presented in the Energy Storage long-term markets participation discussion paper and provide an opportunity for stakeholders to ask clarifying questions prior to submitting their written stakeholder comments.
• Seek input from stakeholders on issues identified for Energy Storage long-term markets participation and options to resolve.
• Share information on DER market participation threshold and aggregation considerations.
• Seek input from stakeholders on issues identified for DER markets participation and exploration of options to resolve.
