Authoritative Document Questions (ADQs), Waivers or Variances and Technical Feasibility Exception
The ADQ Process is intended provide support for market participants, including:
- Authoritative Document Questions: Get clear answers to your queries about authoritative documents and specific requirements in those documents.
- Waivers & Variances: Seek assistance with obtaining waivers or variances for specific market requirements.
The AESO encourages Market Participants to thoroughly review the Authoritative Documents, which include ISO rules, Alberta Reliability Standards, the ISO tariff, and any related Information Documents pertaining to the particular subject area of interest.

Requests for a Waiver or Variance to an Authoritative Document Requirement
The AESO may consider and grant a waiver of, or variance to, Authoritative Document requirements where it has authority to do so. If you have a request for a waiver or variance, including a technical feasibility exception, please refer to:
