Stakeholder session
Purpose and Objectives
Continue formal stakeholder consultation on the Optimal Transmission Planning (OTP) framework and the Transmission Reinforcement Payment (TRP) methodology. The week will explore evolving elements and decisions of the OTP Framework, as well as TRP options and methodology.
This sprint will also offer stakeholders the opportunity to broaden the conversation by sharing perspectives and insight, through meaningful in-person discussions, which will continue to help inform the AESO’s framework design.
Specifically, the Sprint aims to:
- Share preliminary options for the role and functionality of OTP and TRP in the broader congestion management framework, and actively solicit stakeholder feedback on these approaches with consideration for congestion risk mitigation options
- Engage stakeholders in evaluating specific components of the new OTP framework and examine potential TRP configurations in detail, including implications for in-flight processes, to gather preferences and insights to inform the framework recommendation
- Present the rationale and intended objectives of the new OTP framework, and walk participants through its structure and key mechanics using illustrative examples
