ISO Rules Red Tape Administrative Amendments
Administrative application approved
In Disposition 28115-D01-2023 dated March 21, 2023, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) approved the Administrative Amendments to the ISO Rules in Pursuit of Red Tape Reduction to be effective March 31, 2023.
An application for approval of Administrative Amendments to the ISO Rules in Pursuit of Red Tape Reduction was submitted on March 20, 2023 to the AUC. For information regarding the application, or on the status of the proceeding, please visit the AUC’s eFiling site and go to proceeding #28115.
Purpose and Issue
The AESO intends to consult with Stakeholders on the Red Tape Administrative Amendments set out in Appendix “A”. The ISO rules contain provisions that are no longer required. In several instances, the ISO rules also contain typographical errors, outdated cross references, and inconsistencies in how requirements are expressed.

Stakeholder comments and AESO responses
Pursuant to Alberta Utilities Commission Rule 017, Procedures and Process for Development of ISO Rules and Filing of ISO Rules with the Alberta Utilities Commission ("AUC Rule 017"), written comments received from the Stakeholders in response to the AESO's January 17, 2023 Notice regarding Red Tape Administrative Amendments have been posted.
On Feb. 14, 2023, Feb. 21, 2023 and Mar. 1, 2023 the AESO received late written comments which have been posted.
