Information Session | AESO 2025 Reliability Requirements Roadmap

Purpose

We will review the newly published AESO 2025 Reliability Requirements Roadmap and respond to stakeholder questions.

The 2025 Roadmap outlines how the AESO plans to sustain and improve the operational reliability of Alberta's electric system. New challenges are emerging as the grid evolves in response to changes in supply and demand. Our Roadmap details how the AESO will tackle these challenges, ensure compliance with reliability standards, and maintain grid stability. It sets out plans addressing three critical areas:

System Strength and Stability
Flexibility and Balancing
Frequency Response and Stability.
