    Energy Trading System (ETS) – Unit Commitment Directives Report Update

    In accordance with the Alberta Utilities Commission’s (AUC) final approval of Section 206.2 of the ISO rules, the AESO is updating the historical Unit Commitment Directive (UCD) Report, and adding a current UCD Report, in the Energy Trading System (ETS) to notify participants when a unit commitment directive is issued.

    Changes are planned to be implemented on April 16, 2025. The UCD Reports and associated Application Programming Interface (API) will have the following columns.

    • Asset ID
    • Issued Time
    • Begin Time
    • Operation Start Time
    • Operation End Time

    “Operation Start Time” and “Operation End Time” will replace the previous columns “Unit Commitment Start Time” and “Unit Commitment End Time” in the report. APIs associated with the reports will be updated to reflect this change. Column descriptions will be included in the reports’ metadata.

    No action is required for Market Participants. This information is disseminated for awareness purposes only. However, Market Participants may want to update their API process to include the new columns and the updated column names “Operation Start Time” and “Operation End Time”.
